Mark Sturdy, Founder and CEO of Seven Days Ahead, has worked in the markets as a market-maker, trader and analyst for 23 years.

  • He trained in London with merchant bank Rea Brothers Limited working in every area of merchant banking. He then worked in the USA as a yellow jacket on the floor of the CME and CBOT in Chicago with Rudolf Wolf Futures Inc. where he began to develop his charting skills.

  • Back in London he became a Director of Gerrard & National Limited, managing a team of option market-makers makers on the floor of LIFFE, the IPE and LTOM.

  • He worked for SEB London as Chief Global Technical Analyst and as a proprietary dealer. Since then has worked extensively as a consultant technical analyst for a number of large private investors, banks and Hedge Funds.

  • In recent years he has been a regular contributor to both CNBC TV Europe and Bloomberg Television providing chart commentary and trading recommendations.

John Lewis has worked in the London markets for over 30 years since 1976.

  • He has traded successfully across the whole range of markets specialising at different times in cocoa and oil futures, sterling and FX.

  • Joining Drexel Burnham Lambert, John rose to become Deputy Manager of their Money Desk in Europe responsible for all funding, money market trading and foreign exchange hedging.

  • At SEB John worked in New York and London becoming Deputy Head of Global Proprietary Trading uniquely combining this with the post of Head of Money Markets in London for eight successful years.

  • Since 1998 John has worked in the hedge fund business writing a weekly commentary and managing a diverse global macro portfolio.

Philip Allwright has been working in the financial markets for over 20 years, since 1987 as a wide-ranging broker and analyst.

  • First training as a chartered accountant Philip developed his hobby of technical analysis into a successful career with Cresvale Ltd. becoming Chief Analyst of technical indices and stocks, with a particular emphasis on the Far East.

  • Moving on to UBS, Philip became a Director on the financial futures and options desk, acquiring wide experience of broking as well as broadening his technical analysis skills.

  • His foreign exchange experience was further developed with (Standard & Poors) MMS as a Senior Analyst.

  • Latterly, Philip became a Director and consultant for web-based foreign exchange analysis provider G7FOREX before joining Seven Days Ahead.

  • An enthusiastic musician and composer, Philip divides his time between the Barbican in London and Henley.

Maria Twizell worked in futures sales and broking in London for 15 years.

  • Maria gained great experience in customer relations working for a variety of City companies: Continental Illinois, First Options and John Jackson Associates. Qualifying to give trading advice as a SFA Registered Representative, Maria joined Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken, specialised in UK products and ran the UK desk of SEB Futures from the Liffe floor.

  • Since 2002 Maria has lived in the French Pyrenees and works for Seven Days Ahead remotely from home providing day to day administrative and subscriber support.

  • Besides enjoying rural life, creating a magnificent rose garden and skiing, she has immersed herself in the local community, including the honour of being elected to the local council.

Mark Ridgway has over 15 years of experience in european banking and fund managment.

  • After completing a BA (Hons) degree in Economics and German in University College Dublin, Mark started his career in finance with WestLB in London. After WestLB Mark has worked in a number of international investment houses including Swiss Re Asset Management, HSBC and Pioneer Investments.
  • Mark has mostly been involved with global macro investment strategies and their implementation. He has a wealth of experience of managing cash products such as bonds and equities. In particular, he specialized in the use of OTC and exchange traded derivatives to create overlay strategies and structured products.
  • Now living in Dublin, Mark is devoted to history and politics and gets out on the water as often as possible as a yacht racing strategist.
